Brows Post-Care

Post-Treatment Information

Immediately After:

Use the Aftercare Wipe in your aftercare kit twice (cut it in half) to remove any lymph from the treated area 30 minutes after your treatment. Do not stretch the skin whilst wiping. Wait a minute for the skin to dry after wiping and then apply a thin layer of the ointment using a clean finger and repeat this process 3 more times, 30 minutes apart. For the rest of the day continue to wipe your brows using the sterile water pod and a cotton pad every 2-3 hours.

Dry & Normal Skin

Continue wiping and applying the ointment at intervals of 2-3 hours until the flow of lymph fluid has stopped, using sterile water pod and a cotton pad for subsequent wiping.

Oily Skin

During the days following your treatment only apply the ointment if you feel stretching of the skin in the treated area.

During the next 7 Days AVOID the following:

Wetting your eyebrows, in the shower or whilst washing your face. Sunbeds, swimming, any exercise which would result in excessive sweating, any makeup, oils or creams over the treated area.

Any light therapy.

You must avoid picking or scratching the healing area - it may be itchy for a period (this is normal) and if so, you can apply a small amount of ointment,

During the next 30 days:

Avoid sunbathing, tanning beds, light therapy, chemical peels, fruit acids, micr-dermabrasion, creams that contain regeneration factors or any prolonged exposure to sunlight.

Avoid laser treatment or devices with strong light sources, such as IPL, because they may destroy the pigment and cause burning.

Use of antibiotics and hormonal therapy can lead to faster pigment fading. Always protect the eyebrows from the sun using an SPF, excluding the first 7 days after your treatment.

Special warning: The colour of your eyebrows can seem too dark for the first 7 days. It can be a shock, but please do not attempt to remove it by any means. Products are available to purchase which will lessen the depth of colour whilst your brows heal.

Please speak to your artist for further information.

Lips Pre-Care

Pre-Treatment Information

Aftercare for Lips

Following your aftercare is vital to achieving the best results. Please review the following instructions and refer to them as necessary. If during the healing process you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact your artist.

Important - Cold Sores:

If you suffer or have ever suffered from cold sores, use an anti-herpes medication (such as Zovirax) 5 times daily for a period of 1 week, or Aciclovir tablets for 3 days after your tattoo. If a cold sore outbreak does occur, it will generally begin on day 3 of the healing process. This is not caused by your  tattoo or your artist. Herpes lies dormant in the nervous system forever and can reappear if you are exposed to trauma.

Healing Process - What to Expect

The healing process is unique for every individual, but here are some general guidelines.

Days 1 - 4:

During the first 4 days of healing, beginning immediately after your tattoo, you may experience the following symptoms:

    • Swelling and redness
    • Tenderness
    • Flaking
    • Mild itchiness
    • Dry skin (may remain for up to 3 weeks)

Days 3-5:

    • Light flaking/peeling of the skin on the lips will begin during days 3- 5.
    • DO NOT PICK, PEEL OR RUB your lips as this may prematurely remove colour which will cause your lips to heal Allow the colour to flake away by itself.

These symptoms are a normal part of the healing process.

During the first two days, you may apply clean, disposable cold packs to your lips as necessary to reduce any swelling. Lightly pat the lips with sterile water only.

    • In the 3 weeks following this, the colour will blossom into a considerably softer version of the original colour.
