Looking to remove Skin Pigmentation?

Whilst skin pigmentation isn’t problematic for your health the simple fact remains that some people do not like the appearance of sun spots. Exposure to the sun accelerates the ageing process and can cause irregular pigmentation that shows as freckles (ephelides) or sun spots (solar lentigines).

Our new AW3® ND Yag  Laser system is clinically proven treatment for sun-damaged skin, covering both skin rejuvenation and pigmented aspects.

The AW3® treatment works by directing well-controlled pulses of light into the upper skin layer. The light is absorbed by two of the body’s own natural chemicals—melanin in the pigmented areas and haemoglobin in the red blood.

Both these pigments convert the light energy into heat. This heat is used to destroy the parts of the cells in which the melanin is stored.

The visible light produced by the AW3® systems are carefully controlled to produce the correct pulse length and right amount of energy to destroy the targets and minimising the risk of damaging skin tissues.

Is it suitable for all skin tones?

The skin rejuvenation is based on light absorption in melanin and haemoglobin, therefore treatments are more effective on light skin that is not sun tanned at the time of treatment. However, AW3® systems have pre-programmed settings for each treatment, so all skin tones can ensure they will receive the correct energy output for their complexion.

Age spots contain a substance called melanin. When cells contain lots of this substance, they are condensed together, this is where the AW3® light will target the area to rejuvenate it almost immediately.

Does it hurt?

Skin type is a fundamental effecting factor in this treatment as due to the high level of pigment in the skin. Tolerance of pain is very individual from person to person and machine to machine.

No anaesthetics are required, and most people describe the sensation as similar to that of a rubber band snapping onto the skin. You may find it comforting to cool the skin after the treatment.

What can I expect?

You may notice that the age spot looks a little “dirty” for a few days following treatment. After that, you should find that the area will flake away and will find that your skin looks lighter where treated. You may need additional treatments to get to the desired effect and these can be repeated no sooner than 6 weeks apart.

Do I need to take special precautions before and after treatment?

The light used is a completely safe, visible light. Potentially harmful wavelengths are removed by our unique filtering system.

Since tanning takes place by accumulation of pigment (melanin) in the skin, it is, however, important you avoid tanning (sun, solarium or self-tanning cream) before and during the treatment period. Otherwise, your tanned skin will absorb more light, which makes treatment less effective. Generally, no post-treatment care is necessary. But you may benefit from applying an ice pack immediately after treatment or applying Aloe-Vera gel which can be provided at your appointment.  Furthermore, we recommend to using a sunscreen (minimum SPF 60) for a few weeks following treatment.

You can take a look at the range of SUNSCREENS available in our SHOP but our recommendation would be Heliocare Pigment Solution Fluid

Permanent Eyeliner

Permanent Eyeliner: Everything You Need to Know

Permanent Eyeliner Aftercare is Actually Very Straight Forward!

The permanent eyeliner healing process is pretty much the easiest of all permanent makeup healing. As long as you have researched the right artist and are usually fit and healthy, you can expect quick and straightforward healing. Let’s take a look at how your permanent eyeliner will look whilst it heals and what the aftercare will entail…

What to Expect After Permanent Eyeliner:

Day 1: You’ll love your new eyeliner! Your eyeliner colour is approximately 30% darker than it will be when it’s healed. It will also appear slightly larger than it will heal in a few days. This is primarily due to a small amount of swelling and is a normal part of your healing process. You will have no trouble driving home and going about the rest of your day as usual and it’s unlikely that anyone will notice you’ve had anything done.

Days 2-3: Your colour will darken temporarily as the pigment starts to heal and thin scabs will form. You may wake up slightly swollen but you can remedy this by applying a cool compress. Your eyeliner might feel tight and dry but should not be painful.

Days 3-5: Your eyeliner will begin peeling until there is no dry skin left. You want to allow healing to shed naturally. Once all the peeling has finished, it is common for the colour to appear lighter than it will eventually heal. This lighter colour is only temporary as your freshly healed skin is hiding the true colour underneath. Over the next several weeks your eyeliner colour will slowly darken again.

Day 42: At 6 weeks your eyeliner is fully healed. Any adjustments such as darkening the colour or altering the shape can be done at your touch-up appointment.

Permanent Eyeliner Aftercare:

Wet healing is the best way to achieve your ideal Permanent Eyeliner results and is how most permanent eyeliner artists have their clients heal today. Your artist will have you clean your eyeliner regularly following your appointment. Depending on your healing experience, you’ll do this for 2 to 3 days as well as using an ointment regularly to keep your eyeliner from drying out.

PROS: You’ll have minimal scabbing,

and your colour will heal evenly.

CONS: You’ll have some work to do

and an aftercare kit to keep on you.

What You Need For You Permanent Eyeliner Wet Healing Aftercare:

Everything you need to care perfectly for your Permanent Eyeliner will be included in your Aftercare kits which you will receive after both your initial and touch-up appointment.

Got Bad Brows?

Laser Brow and Tattoo Removal

There’s now NO REASON to put up with brows that you’re unhappy with. Or an old tattoo that you’ve since regretted!

By virtue of our new AW3 Flash Ink ND-Yag tattoo laser removal machine.

Whilst results vary person to person, generally people see a visible result after just ONE session. Usually a minimum of three sessions are required for eyebrow treatment.

Traditional tattoos will obviously need additional treatment sessions because of the different depth in the skin and ink types used.

The treatment itself is quick and (whilst we're not pretending it is painless!) it is over in a matter of seconds. Not to mention that there's usually very little aftercare required.

If you're interested in getting booking in for laser removal it is a legal requirement to have a patch test. This consultation appointment is FREE OF CHARGE and gives you an opportunity to talk through any concerns you may have about the procedure.

Book your laser patch test HERE

Alternatively if you think laser isn't for you we can also offer saline pigment lightening & removal. It is far slower than laser but no less effective. Laser and saline often work well in conjunction with each other as both treatments have their limitations. You can read more about saline removal in this BLOG POST.

Healthy Skin is Glowing Skin

Heliocare 360

Nothing protects skin like Heliocare 360°. The multi-award winning range provides daily protection against UVA and UVB, plus visible light and infrared-A.

The Heliocare 360° range protects skin at its surface and defends skin from within with clinically proven anti-oxidants and DNA repair enzymes. This powerful combination of ingredients makes Heliocare 360° the essential part of every skincare regime.

WHY IS DAILY SUN PROTECTION SO IMPORTANT?

The sun damages our skin every day, all year round – even on the cloudiest of days. Wearing daily sun protection is essential in maintaining your skin health and helping to prevent premature skin ageing.

In fact, rather than sun protection we should think of it as daylight protection. That’s because while UVB is strongest in the Summer, UVA, visible light and infrared-A are present all year round.

THE DANGER OF FREE RADICALS

Prolonged sun exposure releases millions of free radicals in the skin causing damage that results in premature skin ageing and impaired skin health.
These daylight-induced free radicals damage:

FORMULATIONS TO FALL IN LOVE WITH

Regardless of whether you have dry, oily, spot prone or sensitive skin there’s a Heliocare 360° product to suit everyone.

INTELLIGENT INGREDIENTS

With maximum protection against UVA, UVB, visible light, infrared-A, free radicals and DNA damage, nothing protects skin like Heliocare 360°. It shields the skin’s surface and defends the skin from within with a unique combination of intelligent ingredients.

Fernblock

A supercharged, fern derived anti-oxidant that fights and neutralises free radicals in the skin. With over 80 Fernblock clinical papers, Fernblock is the result of years of research and is exclusive to Heliocare 360° products.

Fractional Biomimetic Melanin

Specifically designed to absorb visible light wavelengths at the skin’s surface. It absorbs wavelengths between 400 and 500nm at a level that’s two times greater than our own melanin can absorb.

Mineral & Non-Mineral Filters

The optimum combination of mineral and non-mineral filters protect the skin at the surface from UVA and UVB. Every Heliocare 360° product offers at least SPF50 protection against UVB and PA++++ (the highest possible PA rating) for UVA.

DNA Repair Enzymes

DNA repair enzymes for the skin repair both the nucleus and the mitochondria of DNA and can also reduce free radical damage to the mitochondria by a huge 30%.

OTZ-10 Pro Taurine

There are no filters for infrared-A, so this advanced anti-oxidant penetrates deep into the skin helping to protect fibroblasts in the skin and prevent free radical damage caused by infrared-A.

Vitamin C, E and Green tea extract

These advanced skin loving anti-oxidants boost the activity of Fernblock FC by helping to neutralise harmful free radicals in the skin.

THE POWER OF FERNBLOCK

Fernblock is derived from the fern Polypodium leucotomos; an aquatic plant that evolved to thrive on land by developing a powerful protective mechanism from the sun. Fernblock harnesses the power of this unique fern by a patented extract which is then fortified with ferulic and caffeic acid.
Fernblock fights and neutralises harmful free radicals in the skin and is clinically proven to protect fibroblasts, collagen, Langerhans cells and skin cell DNA. This revolutionary technology is the result of years of research – with over 80 clinical papers – and is exclusive to Heliocare 360° products.

Philings Skincare

What Is Philings?

Rejuvenated Skin, Without Surgery

PhiLings is the umbrella term for Phi-Ion and Micro-needling treatments - two equally revolutionary, unique, anti-ageing and regenerative treatments. These treatments can be done in combination or separately, depending on the skin concern.

What is Micro-needling?

Our skin is at the bottom of the priority list when it comes to the distribution of nourishing ingredients because tissue regeneration and vitality maintenance are far more important for internal organs.

Micro-needling is the process of causing micro-damage to the skin, by penetrating needles to a depth of 0.2mm - 0.75mm and is considered to be painless. The small wounds cause your body to make more collagen and elastin, which heal your skin and help you look younger. You might also hear it called collagen induction therapy. During the treatment a micro-needling cocktail will be applied, selected specifically based on your skin concerns. You will receive an aftercare pack which includes further skincare products and detailed instructions for all micro-needling aftercare requirements.

Microneedling Healing and Risks

It’s not a quick fix. It takes time to notice a difference. That’s because your body is healing itself. Most people need up to 3 treatments before they see any change.

Healing time. Most people find they have no downtime and their skin looks clear and rejuvenated from the next morning, with any residual redness having gone.

Pain and redness. You may have some minor pain, tinging or tightness, after the procedure and your skin may be red for a short time.

Peeling. Your skin may feel tight and like sunburn for the first 24-48 hours.

Bruising and bleeding. There’s usually minimal bleeding and no bruising during micro-needling.

Possible scarring. Micro-needling isn’t a good idea for people who’ve had keloids, scars that look like large bubbles on the skin. It could make the condition worse.

Infection. Micro-needling creates tiny holes in the skin, which could let germs enter. But the risk of infection is very low. If you’re healthy, an infection from microneedling is unlikely and all needles used are one-use disposable cartridges.

What is Phi-Ion (Plasma Pen)?

Phi-Ion is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure which triggers an instant contraction and tightening of the skin to create a lifting, remodelling and rejuvenating effect. This method can be used to tighten specific areas of skin without causing any damage to the underlying or adjacent tissues. This revolutionary method is capable of achieving results comparable to those of cosmetic surgery and one treatment is usually enough to achieve the desired effect.  Phi-Ion can provide baggy eyelid correction, wrinkle tensioning around crows feet and marionette lines,  and can be used to improve acne scars as-well as remove skin tags.

Phi-Ion treatments work on the principle of ionized gas in the air. At the right distance from the skin, oxygen and nitrogen are mixed, and the electrostatic energy produces the plasmatic effusion or arc, which discharges onto the skin.

Without actually touching the skin, this plasma arc vaporises the skin forcing it to contract and stimulates fibroblasts.

Small carbon crusts form on the skin, resembling dots, which slough away over the coming days to reveal regenerated skin.

The micro trauma caused by plasma stimulates Fibroblasts (the cells responsible for the production of collagen and elastin in the skin) and promotes the production of new skin cells which will help to strengthen, plump and tighten the skin.

New cell production continues for several weeks after a session. This helps to refine fine lines and wrinkles, and improve the overall complexion of the skin.

Plasma (Phi-Ion) Healing and Risks

Local anaesthetic cream is applied for 20 minutes to help reduce any discomfort, and the treatment is then nearly painless. The procedure may feel hot in places, and there may be a burning sensation or a tingling. However, just like any other trauma to the skin, there is always a smallest possibility of scars. But overall this skin tightening treatment is 100% safe and effective.

You shouldn’t receive plasma skin therapy if you are breastfeeding, are pregnant, have an allergy to topical anaesthetic preparations, have an infection at the treatment site or are using isotretinoin for wrinkles or acne.

If you have a history of keloids or hypertrophic scarring, it’s recommended that you approach plasma therapy with caution.

In addition, the procedure isn’t without side effects. Examples of side effects can include redness, swelling, mild hypopigmentation (light spots), mild hyperpigmentation (dark spots) and skin peeling and crusting.

Plasma is mildly to moderately uncomfortable. Everyone’s pain level is different and some areas of the body are more sensitive than others. Numbing cream is helpful in reducing the discomfort during treatment.

Li-ft Pigment Lightening & Removal

We are SUPER excited to announce the introduction of a new treatment to our range:

Li-ft Pigment Lightening & Removal

If you have permanent make-up that was poorly done or that you’ve since regretted, we can now help. We are now fully trained and certified to perform pigment lightening & removal. We use a safe, high content salt and fruit seed extract solution called Li-ft by Li Pigments, that is extremely effective in pigment lightening and removal.

How does LI-FT tattoo lightening solution differ from laser tattoo removal?

Li-FT solution relies on your body’s natural healing mechanism to gently lift the pigment up and out to the surface of your skin. Laser tattoo removal involves the application of bursts of heat to break up large pigment particles which are then absorbed from within your body. Laser tattoo removal can also cause pigment to be pushed deeper and underneath the scar tissue that it creates. In this case, tattoo may appear lighter but it is still present underneath the scar tissue. This may affect the ability to apply a new tattoo or permanent makeup pigment in the future. In addition, the heat damage caused by laser tattoo removal may cause permanent damage to your melanocytes (pigment-producing cells), which is why it is common to see a white “ghost image” of a tattoo removed by laser.

Just got BAD eyebrows?
EMERGENCY REMOVALS
can be done within 48 hours of treatment.
Call us now!

How Many LI-FT Removal Treatments Will it Take?

The number of Li-FT removal treatments required depends upon several factors including your skin type and the depth, age and type of tattoo or permanent makeup pigment used. It also depends on your desired outcome. In some instances, lightening is adequate before covering the area with new work, and in other cases complete removal is desired.

Generally, 1-5 tattoo removal treatments are needed.

Is it Painful?

The process is often not as painful as having the tattoo done originally. At the end of the treatment the solution is soaked onto the treated area for a few minutes, which can sting, but is over quickly.

Does Saline remove ALL colours?

An advantage of saline removal is that it is, unlike laser, not selective about the colours that are removed. Dark, Light, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow…… Whatever the colour, saline can help to remove it.

What Should I Expect After a LI-FT Tattoo Removal or Permanent Makeup Removal Treatment?

Immediately after each treatment, the area will appear quite red, or sometimes the colour of the pigment being removed. We clean the treated area but do allow a slight pooling of fluids to encourage coagulation and the formation of a crust. The appearance is initially very similar to that of a scraped knee.

How Long Does It Take for The Scab to Fall Off?

The treated area should be kept dry and left alone as long as possible. The longer the scab stays in place, the better your tattoo removal results will be. Usually, this is approx. 7-10 days.

How Do I Survive Having Scabs On My Face If I Have Permanent Makeup Removal?

Fortunately, the treated area is in exactly the shape of your tattoo. So, in the case of eyebrows for instance, although a crust will be present, it may just appear as darker eyebrows to those around you. Most of the eyebrows we remove are far worse than surviving a few days of scabs.

What Do I Do Once the Scab Falls Off?

Continue to keep the area clean and dry and protected from the sun for at least 4 weeks or until your next appointment. It is normal for your skin to appear pink for several weeks. No matter how healed your skin May appear on the surface, it is vital to wait a full 8 weeks for the skin to be thoroughly healed before any follow up treatment can be considered.

Will I See a Change After Each Treatment?

Most people see a difference with every session. With every session the ink is pulled further out of the skin. This can happen at different rates…. but WILL happen.

Are There Contra-indications?

Yes. We will not perform Li-FT tattoo and permanent makeup removal if you:

* are under the age of 18

* are pregnant or breastfeeding

* are on acne medication or have been in the last year

* have keloid scarring

* have Vitiligo

* have uncontrolled diabetes

* have dark skin AND are prone to hyperpigmentation

* are under the age of 18

Will LI-FT Pigment Removal Affect My Brow Hair?

No. Unlike laser tattoo removal, your hair will not be affected.

Can I Buy Just One Treatment at a Time?

Yes, you can buy one treatment at a time. Just please be aware that it may take anywhere between 1-5 sessions for a satisfactory outcome.

What Do I Need To Do Before My Appointment?

Avoid alcohol, aspirin or ibuprofen products.

What Type of Aftercare Treatment is Needed?

You must keep the area clean and dry. If any scabs form, you must leave them to come away naturally. After this stage of healing a vitamin E or aftercare balm will be supplied for you to apply.

What About Scarring?

Saline removal does not cause scarring. Whilst being effective at removing ink and pigment, it is gentle on the skin.

Complimentary Removal Of Radiation Tattoo’s

Before undergoing radiation therapy for cancer, small black or blue tattoos are used to mark the skin. This allows for accurate targeting of the treatment area. They are generally small and not unsightly. For some they are a badge of survival, for others they are a reminder that they would rather not have. For those, I am honoured to offer free removal of radiation tattoos from ANY kind of cancer, using our safe saline removal techniques. For more information or to book an appointment, please email info@justbrowsinc.com or Contact Us for details on how to apply for complimentary treatment.

Lockdown 3.0

So... Here we are again.

I wanted to write something here to let you all know that I'm thinking of you and your loved ones at the moment.

Christmas was strange, at best. A New Year should feel like the start of something fresh & positive; not like Groundhog Day... But remember folks - we've done this before and we CAN do it again. Focus on taking time for yourself, get outside as much as possible and keep in touch with your true friends. You can still make a cup of tea and call your BFF, so it's not all bad.

As for your brow appointments; they will be waiting for you as SOON as restrictions allow it. For now I have decided that there's little point in rescheduling everyone's appointment given that we have no real idea if this will all end mid-February, as mentioned by Boris. I have amended the 'reminder' email which should come out 48 hours prior to your original appointment and it will, instead, confirm that we're taking a 'rain check' for now.

Once the nation is re-opened I will then endeavour to reschedule everyone in the exact same order you were booked in to make things as fair as possible!

So for now... Grin and bear Enjoy family your time and remember to stay positive.

Lots of love

Sarah xx

Qualifications & Training

My journey with permanent makeup began at the start of 2019. My love of all-things-eyebrows had turned from just an 'interest' into something I knew I wanted to move my career towards.

I firmly believe that the minute you stop learning, everything stops. I fully intend to continue training regularly throughout my career as often as I'm able.

May 2019

Attended a two day 'Phibrows Microblading Course' with Grand Master Dovile Zilinskaite. Six months rigorous training process started immediately. Dovile Zilinskaite is the founder of PhiAcademy London and was one of the first PhiAcademy Masters and the only one titled Grand Master by PhiAcademy in the United Kingdom.

August 2019

Passed final of 11 levels of the 'Phibrows Microblading Course' and qualified as a Phibrows Artist. Awarded Phibrows Artist number, Phibrows logo to use on photographs and entered into the Phibrows Community World Map of registered Artists.

October 2019

Enrolled on the Phibrows Grand Master Vesna Jugovic course 'Perfection and PhiShading'. This course enables you to learn about a combination of manual shading and perfecting the eyebrow hair hairstrokes, offering more intensive and fuller looking brows, yet still with a natural effect.

January 2020

Attended a 'Brow Daddy London Ombre Brows Masterclass', taught by Brow Daddy himself; Ruben Kasper. Received certificate of attendance following display of having adequately learned and understood the various Brow Daddy methods, including his marketing and social media secrets!

February 2020

Completed the Dovile Zilinskaite 'Phibrows First Class Service Course', alongwith the Dovile Zilinskaite 'Phibrows Machine Shading Bonus Lecture'.

May 2020

Enrolled on the 'BoldBrows Perfection Course' by Grand Master Vesna Jugovic.

The idea of this pattern is to create a hyper realistic look guided by the natural direction of the hairs and to give the eyebrows a volume-shaped look.

Initially, the inspiration for BoldBrows was found in the trend of “fluffy” eyebrows and then, through perfecting, it became a pattern adapted for all types. The strokes are different from those of Basic Microblading because of the pattern that is formed in curved and twisted hairs, in combination with mini strokes that actually make a volumizing effect.

August 2020

Qualified with Kerstin and Thorsten for Powderbrows.

November 2020

Enrolled on Master Maya Miller's 'Philings and Micro-needling Course'.

Subsequently delayed until February 2021 due to Covid-19 lockdown and then completed in July 2021.

What is Microblading?

The Basics of Phibrows Microblading

Eyebrows are the frame of the face and when created correctly in line with your features, bone structure and face shape can really emphasise your eyes; giving your face an instant lift. Microblading is a type of eyebrow architecture, achieved by a manual hand held tool and it is a skill of the best and latest technique in eyebrow semi-permanent tattooing.

PhiBrows microblading creates extremely fine natural looking hair strokes mimicking the natural direction and lengths of your brows.

The process may be used to improve or create eyebrow definition, to cover gaps of lost hair, to extend the eyebrows, or may be used as a full reconstruction if the brows have little or no hair.

There are many benefits of microblading;

  • Anti-ageing – eyebrows can emphasise your eyes giving you an instant lift; a younger look
  • No smudged eyebrows – always looking perfect on the beach, while exercising, all day…
  • Achieve the brow shape you have always wanted
  • Regain the look of fuller brows due to loss of hair or over plucking
  • Saving time on application of brow make up
  • Money spend saving on beauty & makeup products

The procedure consists of 3 important stages: the initial consultation, which includes a patch test, the treatment and then the top up. The top up is recommended at 4 to 6 from the treatment date.

On the day of your procedure your brows will be designed using a cosmetic pencil, according to the golden intersection (phi 1.618) and face morphology then finally determined digitally. You will then be able to see your brow shape before any work starts, once the shape is agreed the process will then start; lasting anywhere up to an hour.

Every treatment is performed with disposable sterile tools, and the pigments used are produced to

the highest medical standards (Phibrows SUPER microblading pigments).

Strokes are always drawn in the direction of the natural hair growth to achieve the most natural look. The process is very precise thanks to the tool that is used which has a row of 10-12 micro-needles at the end needles that don’t penetrate the skin but just delicately scratch the surface, much like a paper cut

Clients are welcome to bring in images of the style of brow they like, or come in with the brow make up they normally wear on a day to day basis – but I’ll determine the colour and shape to use from my years of experience and extensive Phibrows training.

The ink used for regular body tattoos is formulated differently and goes much deeper than the pigments used for microblading.  With tattooing a needle is used to deposit ‘ink’ into the skin, however, the microblading process isn’t the same as getting a tattoo because the pigment is deposited only into the first layer of the skin.

As a result the longevity of the Phibrows pigment and its visibility will eventually fade away if you don’t continue with top ups every 12-18 months or so.

There is no scarring or discolouration with the pigments used, so you wouldn’t know, if you left them to fade out completely, after approximately 5 years.

The pigment is chosen on the day to match your natural eyebrow colour; at first the colour may seem too dark but after a week it starts to reduce and will lose 50-60 percent of its intensity. If you think the colour is to dark do not try to remove it yourself, please be patient and wait 7 to 10 days of the colour to fade on its own. Up until you come back to your top up you will lose 10 to 15 percent of the drawn strokes and in the second session these are re-done.
